A Journey to the Four Directions is an original Chinese mythic fantasy novel inspired by the rich traditions of classical shenmo literature.

In the north, Zhenwu learns that true restraint lies not in destruction but in understanding what must be guarded. In the south, Huaguang transforms fire from a force that burns into one that illuminates. In the east, the Eight Immortals discover that memory survives only when different voices and records preserve it together. In the west, Xuanzang, Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, Sha Wujing, and the White Dragon Horse continue a journey shaped by doubt, responsibility, and choice.

Their paths eventually converge around Wuxiang, a formless presence that feeds on erased names, concealed mistakes, denied pain, and deliberately forgotten causes.

Blending Chinese mythology, epic fantasy, adventure, and philosophical reflection, the novel explores memory, identity, compassion, responsibility, and the courage to face an imperfect past rather than erase it.
