Mae Novak is a brilliant rhetoric instructor at Dalton University who has spent years hiding a devastating family secret behind a meticulously constructed life. Keaton Pryce is a crisis-communications operative sent by a shadow organization to audit her class, assess her vulnerabilities, and orchestrate the destruction of her career. What begins as a calculated game of intellectual chess in a claustrophobic office soon turns into a dangerous, consuming attraction. As they strip away each other's defenses, Keaton must make a fatal choice: execute the operation that will ruin her, or betray his dangerous employers to save the only woman who has ever seen through his lies. In a high-stakes academic world where truth is weaponized, the most dangerous lies are the ones that contain the most truth.
