Darrell Rivers has returned for her final term at Malory Towers, and she has achieved her greatest dream: she has been named Head Girl of the entire school! But wearing the prestigious Head Girl badge brings massive responsibilities and incredibly difficult challenges. The lower forms are completely out of control, led by a rebellious, sullen first-former named Jo. Meanwhile, in the sixth form, a boastful and domineering new girl named Amanda—a fanatic sports star—is determined to completely take over the school's athletic teams, causing bitter, explosive clashes across the dormitories!

But the real drama comes when a sudden, devastating family tragedy strikes the spoiled and vain Gwendoline Mary, forcing her to finally face the harsh reality of the outside world and abandon her foolish finishing-school dreams. As Darrell navigates the intense pressures of leadership, fierce lacrosse matches, and mending broken friendships, she realizes just how much the beautiful, wind-swept school has shaped her life. Packed with highly emotional departures, hard-learned lessons, and a beautiful sunset farewell, the grand finale of the Malory Towers series is an unforgettable, tear-jerking classic!
