He was the rival Frost Harbor loved to hate. She is the one woman his contract forbids him to want.
After a scandal-tainted trade, star center Jace Mercer arrives in Frost Harbor with a hostile crowd, a damaged reputation, and one final chance to save his career. Every move he makes is governed by a strict conduct clause—and by the woman assigned to enforce it.
Nora Whitmore is the Wolves owner's daughter, but she has built her career as a compliance attorney on being sharper, steadier, and more principled than anyone expects. Babysitting the arrogant player who once crushed her team's playoff dreams should be simple: keep him out of trouble, protect the organization, and never let him close.
Then forced proximity reveals the man behind Jace's headlines. Long nights rebuilding the Wolves' youth program turn hostility into trust, sharp banter into dangerous chemistry, and one forbidden kiss into something neither of them can dismiss.
But when leaked photographs ignite a media storm and missing records make Nora look corrupt, their relationship could destroy her credibility, his last chance, and the team they have both come to love. To claim a future together, they will have to expose the truth—even if doing so costs them everything.
The Rivalry Clause is a steamy, emotionally grounded hockey romance featuring enemies to lovers, forbidden workplace attraction, forced proximity, an owner's daughter, a misunderstood star player, he-falls-first devotion, and a hard-won happily ever after.
Enter Frost Harbor today—grab The Rivalry Clause and watch the league's most hated rival risk everything for the woman he was never supposed to love.
