Father Thomas Rayburn expected a quiet assignment in the mountains of North Carolina. After nearly a decade serving a coastal parish in Morehead City, the move to Black Mountain was supposed to offer a fresh beginning.

Instead, he arrives at Saint Lucia Catholic Church and finds a parish burdened by fear, silence, and secrets no one is willing to explain.

The church stands beneath the shadow of the mountains, watched over by an ancient bell tower and surrounded by stories the townspeople would rather forget. As unnatural fog settles over Black Mountain, Thomas begins experiencing impossible visions, terrifying nightmares, and encounters that challenge everything he believes about faith, evil, and the world beyond human understanding.

Something has remained hidden within Saint Lucia for generations.

Something that recognizes Father Thomas.

With the darkness closing in and the people around him becoming increasingly afraid, Thomas must uncover the truth buried beneath the church before the evil haunting Black Mountain claims another soul.

The Bell Tower of Black Mountain is the chilling first novel in the Dark Carolina Chronicles, an atmospheric Southern Gothic horror series where forgotten places hold ancient secrets, faith is tested, and some evil never leaves.
