Easy Summary- The Giant of the Haunted Pass

The Giant of the Haunted Pass is a story about fear, courage, friendship, and learning the truth before judging someone.
The story takes place in Greyvale, a small village near Mount Veyra. Between the mountains is a dangerous road called the Haunted Pass. For many years, people have told frightening stories about this place. They speak about strange lights, giant footprints, missing travelers, and a huge giant living in the mountains. Most villagers believe the giant is a monster, even though almost no one has clearly seen him.
Fourteen-year-old Rowan Vale is different. He lives with his grandmother, Elara, beside the old bell tower. She teaches him that not knowing something does not mean the worst must be true. Rowan becomes curious when he sees a huge shadow in the fog and hears strange sounds coming from Mount Veyra.
With his brave and clever friend Mira, Rowan travels into the Haunted Pass. They discovered that a landslide destroyed a bridge and damaged a merchant’s wagon. They also meet the giant, Torren. He is enormous, but he is not the cruel monster people imagined. In fact, Torren saved the merchant and has spent many years protecting the mountain.
Torren explains that dangerous water is building inside Mount Veyra. If the underground chambers break, Greyvale could be flooded. At first, the villagers did not believe Rowan and Mira. But heavy rain causes the mountain to open, and floodwater begins rushing toward the village.
Torren, Rowan, Mira, and the villagers work together to clear an old spillway and save Greyvale. The people finally understood that Torren was never their enemy.
The story teaches an important lesson: fear can create monsters that do not really exist. Sometimes we must look beyond rumors, listen carefully, and give others a chance before deciding who they are.
In the end, the giant was real.
The monster was only what people imagined.
