Description & Overview
Sharing the gospel with people of all faiths and all nations is not a special calling reserved for missionaries and preachers. It is the shared assignment of every follower of Jesus. The aim of these pages is not to make you an expert debater or a polished orator. The aim is far simpler and far more freeing: to help you become willing, aware, and obedient — so that when God places an open door in front of you, you walk through it.
This book is built around two foundational passages from the book of Acts. In Acts 17:16–34, the apostle Paul stands in Athens, a city full of idols, and finds a way to speak the gospel into a culture utterly foreign to his own. In Acts 8:26–40, Philip obeys the prompting of the Spirit, runs to a stranger’s chariot, and leads an Ethiopian official to faith. Two very different encounters — one with a crowd of skeptical philosophers, one with a single searching traveler — yet both show us the same pattern: a believer who senses urgency, recognizes an open door, and steps through it.
