If there has to be unemployment for reasons such as labour market flexibility, efficiency, productivity, creativity, growth, stability, or the like, the rate of income support for unemployed persons must not in any way impoverish recipients or induce hunger or homelessness, as it must not for anybody else. The right to an adequate level of income support, or a living wage, is universal and is not to be considered a privilege. The global community as a whole is invited to encourage an expeditious end to the degradation of and widespread ridicule, cruelty and inhumanity directed at labour market participants occupying a position that’s allegedly integral to the system and is intended to exist in the ordinary course of events, and invited to advance and augment universal human rights and fundamental freedom to the extent necessary to secure, by or before 2030, a world in which poverty, hunger and homelessness are permanently eradicated.
