When a routine drug recall lands on pharmacist Claire Halloran's counter, it should mean nothing more than an evening of phone calls. Instead, before she can finish making them, one of her regulars is found dead beside a pill bottle her pharmacy never filled — from a lot that, according to the manufacturer, was never even shipped to her state. Determined to find out how a stranger's poison ended up wearing her pharmacy's good name, Claire starts digging through fourteen years of records and into a system built on nothing sturdier than handwritten cards and one woman's word.
