This For Remembrance is a thoughtful collection of essays by Canadian writer William Talbot Allison, first published in 1949.

With warmth, wit, observation, and a keen appreciation for the past, Allison reflects on people, places, experiences, and the small details that give ordinary life its lasting meaning. These essays move between personal recollection, cultural observation, history, and everyday life, creating a rich portrait of a changing world.

Written in an engaging and reflective style, This For Remembrance will appeal to readers who enjoy classic essays, literary nonfiction, memoir, Canadian literature, nostalgia, and works that preserve the character of an earlier age.

A graceful collection for readers interested in classic essays, personal reminiscence, Canadian writing, literary nonfiction, history, memories, and reflections on people and places.
