Alex has spent years perfecting relationships with an expiration date. Then he meets Ethan.

Starting over in Portland was supposed to be simple: a new city, a new job, and enough distance from the life Alex left behind in Los Angeles. Falling for someone wasn't part of the plan—especially someone as steady, patient, and unexpectedly difficult to keep at arm's length as Ethan.

For once, Alex begins to wonder what might happen if he stopped preparing to leave.

But Ethan has a past of his own, and when it arrives with news neither of them expected, the life they're beginning to build changes overnight.

What follows isn't the love story Alex imagined. It's messier. Bigger. Filled with friendship, grief, second chances, and people who refuse to let one another disappear when things get hard.

Because sometimes finding the right person isn't the hardest part.

Sometimes it's believing you're allowed to stay.

Ours on Purpose is an emotional contemporary LGBTQ+ romance about love, loss, chosen family, and discovering that the life you never planned may be exactly where you belong.
