Room fourteen is the first place Hildegard Bergmann has had entirely to herself since her husband died - and the quiet corner where she has, improbably, solved three cases. So when the management asks her to give it up, she resists more fiercely than she expected. Then a resident is found on the garden bench with an open book he was not reading, his gaze fixed on nothing at all, and the question of who belongs in which room turns out to matter far more than anyone admits. The third Mrs Bergmann Investigates mystery - a warm, wry cosy crime novel about home, dignity and the secrets a single room can keep.
