Ask a room of reasonably paid adults what their money is for, and nearly everyone will answer with the same 3 words: security, freedom, and happiness. Then ask them to describe their last 5 purchases, and the answers will have almost nothing to do with those 3 words. The gap between what we say money is for and what we actually spend it on is the great unexamined problem of personal finance, and it is why you can earn more, track more, and budget more while feeling no better. Whatever brought you here, you share a single belief: that spending is not the enemy of a good life, and it is the output of a life, and the goal is not to spend less but to spend differently.
This is not a coupon newsletter, and it is not a spreadsheet that tracks every nickel, and it is not the 50/30/20 budget that has failed more readers than it has served. What you actually need is a decision framework, and these pages deliver it: the Return on Life model that scores every purchase across 5 dimensions, so that the money you spend and the life you build finally point in the same direction.
Inside, you'll discover:
• The money story that runs your spending without your permission
• How to rank your values and close the gap between what you say and do
• The 5-dimension scoring framework for every purchase you make
• Where your money actually goes, and the audit that shows you
• The permission system that lets you spend without guilt by design
• How to kill the quiet leaks and tame the impulse engine
• The big decisions, the couple's money, and the ongoing review
You are allowed to spend money on what matters, and the person who is clear about what matters stops asking whether they can afford things and starts asking whether things are worth their life. The framework is the destination, and this book is the road, and the road is practical from the first page to the last.
