Luo Yiran was never supposed to survive the story.
Now the story has started watching her back.
After the events beneath Moonfall Ridge, eight silver seals remain bound beneath Yiran’s skin—and something behind the mysterious Ninth Gate knows her name.
Unfortunately, ancient secrets are only one of Broken Moon Sect’s problems.
Powerful outsiders have begun circling Moonfall Ridge. Old ownership claims are being challenged. Forgotten boundary formations are waking. Records that should have burned centuries ago are resurfacing. And the nearly forgotten sect must prove that it deserves to keep the mountain it has protected for generations.
For Yiran, that means surviving hearings, trials, rival cultivators, political pressure, and the increasingly inconvenient realization that Broken Moon’s crumbling mountain hides far more than anyone suspected.
Then the second seal begins to open.
Not the way it should.
As buried formations reconnect and remnants of an ancient past begin responding to Yiran’s presence, she discovers that the Ninth Gate may not be waiting for a key.
It may be waiting for her.
And whatever lies beyond it is connected to a history that someone worked very hard to erase.
Broken Moon was supposed to disappear.
Yiran was supposed to die.
Neither seems interested in following the story anymore.
