A construction project on the shore exposes a concrete block with something poured into it that has lain there since 1989. Inspector Ida Ruf knows the client — he was her first superior. What begins as a historical find leads into a web of destroyed files, old hush money and a loyalty that Ida must trace back to her own first years on the force. Book 2 of the Lake Constance series featuring Inspector Ida Ruf.
