Lionel Milligate has run out of time
Dying of cancer, isolated by Covid lockdowns, Lionel Milligate throws himself into one last project: a footy-card fundraising exhibition for the local historical society.
Nemesis Gildo Gambino plans to loan "The Polly," a rare and valuable card won from Milligate so long ago he doesn't remember how.
What starts as a modest fundraiser becomes an unlikely viral sensation as Lionel and Mary Connell sort loaned cards, discuss games, and give their tips on a livestream nobody expected anyone to watch.
Wry, quietly devastating, and very Australian, The Polly Prank is a story about grudges that outlast friendships, legacies that outlast bodies, and one old man determined to have the last laugh.
