She didn't run to Cormorant Bay to fall in love. She ran there to disappear.

Six months ago, Mara Voss testified against the one man everyone warned her not to cross. Since then, she's changed her name, her hair color, and three zip codes. Cormorant Bay — a foggy nowhere town on the Oregon coast — was supposed to be the last stop. A quiet kitchen job. A cheap rental. No one who asks questions.

Then someone sets her car on fire in her own driveway.

Two nights later, her rental goes up while she's asleep inside it — and the only reason she's alive is the reclusive firefighter who kicked in her door before the roof came down. Rhys Kessler hasn't let anyone close since the fire that killed his partner three years ago. He doesn't want a houseguest. He especially doesn't want the kind of trouble that follows Mara Voss.

But with her name on a witness list and her new address burning down around her, Rhys is the only person standing between Mara and whoever wants her silenced for good — and the department's arson investigator is starting to ask the one question Mara's been dreading: is this random, or is this him?

As the fires escalate and the suspect list narrows to an unsettling handful of people who all know exactly where she sleeps, Mara and Rhys are forced into the kind of proximity that burns away every wall either of them built. Trusting him could get her killed. Not trusting him already nearly did.

With a killer closing in and a ten-day deadline before Mara's testimony goes public, The Last Address is a fast-paced, twisty small-town romantic suspense about two people who've both stopped believing they get to keep anything good — right up until they have to fight to keep each other.
