Jever, known for its beer, seems like a peaceful little Frisian town. But beneath its tranquil surface, a criminal enterprise is thriving that no one wants to see.

Gert Gerdes returns from Hanover to his hometown to start over as a private investigator. Right from his first investigations, he stumbles upon missing persons cases that lead deeper than expected—straight into a regional drug network that is highly organized and extremely dangerous.

Gerdes tenaciously works his way through lies, addictions, and shady dealings. But the closer he gets to the truth, the more he himself becomes a target.

A gripping crime novel about Friesland, hidden crimes—and the courage not to look away.
