A broken system. An invisible leash. And the dangerous cost of walking away.

In the rain-soaked industrial city of Oakhaven, high-priced defense attorney Elias Thorne does not bribe judges or alter court records. He controls the human brain itself. Using covert high-frequency induction grids hidden within medical clinics and public infrastructure, Thorne triggers synthetic, timed seizures in his criminal clients and municipal officials alike—exploiting legal loopholes to dismiss felonies as uncontrollable acts of biology.

When Detective Mark Vance discovers that his ailing brother, Leo, is being used as the baseline calibration subject for this biological hostage grid, the battle turns personal. Bound by judicial corruption and stripped of his departmental authority, Mark turns his back on the badge. Relying on his former military engineering background, Mark races against a lethal countdown across flooded vaults, decommissioned hydroelectric dams, and high-voltage transmission towers.

But dismantling an empire of invisible wires carries a heavy toll. Escaping north to the isolated forests of Blackwood Ridge, the two brothers must navigate lingering trauma, the constant dread of retaliation, and the quiet labor of healing in a world where the law has failed, but resilience endures.
