Introducing A Child of Dragons, the first book in The Last Elementals series by Elizabeth Lund.

The bloodlines were bred. The prophecy was written. The dragon's child has been born.

With the Desolation creeping across the Five Realms, killing crops and livestock, causing famine and pestilence, the people of the Five Realms have almost lost hope. Torn by war, facing starvation and death, they look to the Elementals to save them from a dark future.

The last thing Anaya wants is to be a Princess…

Scorned by her royal father because she wasn't born a boy, Anaya spends her days reading books on lore and hunting for her foster parents, the castle groundskeeper and her nursemaid, who took her in when her father rejected her. On one fateful day, she runs into Kealen Al Mir, a young man she's been warned to avoid because of his father, Terryn, deposed Lord of Darkwood and enemy to her father's realm.

What Kealen wants the most is to find the prophesied White Queen and restore the rule of Elementals…

Born with the gift of foresight, Kealen hopes to bring together two old bloodlines, leading to the birth of one who was prophesied - a powerful Elemental queen, a child of dragons, who will be key to stopping the Desolation from destroying the Five Realms.

In his visions, Kealen saw her marrying an Elemental king, also a child of dragons, and giving birth to the one who would lead the Five Realms out of danger and return the crown to his line.

When he meets Anaya and learns she is a child of dragons, he realizes she is the White Queen. She is key to ensuring his visions come true.

There's only one problem: their mutual attraction is undeniable, and he doesn't see their child becoming the one who will save the Five Realms from total devastation. Instead, he sees only war and heartbreak if he gives in to his desires.

Is their fate sealed?

Or is their love story key to saving the Five Realms from destruction?

A Child of Dragons is an epic romantasy of forbidden love, ancient prophecy, and the price of power. It is perfect for fans of Fourth Wing, A Court of Thorns and Roses, Quicksilver and From Blood and Ash and those who love morally complex characters, slow-burn romance, richly layered world-building and a plot full of secrets that will keep you turning pages long into the night.

A Prince of Steel, Book Two in The Last Elementals series, is scheduled to be released in December 2026.
