Easy Summary- The Crime Scene in My Dream

Sixteen-year-old Imran Rahman begins having a frightening dream about a strange room. In the dream, the walls are covered with old yellow wallpaper, a ceiling fan makes a slow clicking sound, and a damaged blue door stands at the end of the room. Beside the door lies a dead person. Imran also notices a silver ring, blood on the floor, a brass key, a broken glass, a red cassette recorder, and the numbers 4197 written near the door.
Every time Imran has a dream, he wakes up at exactly 3:17 A.M. At first, his family thinks it is only a nightmare. His younger sister Zara even jokes about it. But everything changes when police discover a real murder inside an abandoned boarding house seventeen kilometers away.
The murder room looks exactly like Imran’s dream.
Even worse, Imran knows details about the crime scene that the police never told the public. Because of this, the police begin to suspect him. However, Imran has a strong alibi because he was at home when the murder happened.
While searching for answers, Imran remembers taking part in a sleep experiment at Somnus Laboratories three years earlier. He later discovers that other teenagers, including Leena, Caleb, and Sofia, have dreamed about the same blue room.
They learn that Somnus secretly experimented on sleeping teenagers. The researchers used sounds, pictures, smells, and repeated words to create false memories in their minds.
Someone later reactivated these memories and used the teenagers as false witnesses to confuse the police.
Then Imran dreams about another possible murder.
This time, the person in danger is his sister Zara.
Imran must discover who is controlling the dreams before Zara is harmed.
The story shows that dreams can feel real, memories can be changed, and sometimes the greatest danger is not inside a room but inside the mind.
