Description & Overview
Book Description Winner Takes All
Ten contestants enter a televised singing competition dreaming of fame, fortune and a fresh start. Only one of them is already a killer. When a mysterious young woman enters the brand new reality series Winner Takes All, nobody pays much attention to her. She is quiet, awkward and nowhere near the strongest singer in the competition. Hidden away inside a luxury countryside hotel for ten weeks alongside the other contestants, she appears completely forgettable. That is exactly how she wants it. Because while the cameras focus on rivalries, rehearsals and emotional performances, contestants begin dying one by one in what appear to be tragic accidents. A fall.A drowning. An overdose. An electrocution. Each death pushes fear deeper into the competition while paranoia slowly tears the remaining singers apart. But for one contestant murder is not shocking. It is familiar. Before the competition she lived another life entirely, a secret life inherited from a man who trained her to kill before taking his own life years earlier. To her every obstacle has always had the same simple solution. Remove it. As the weeks continue she discovers something terrifying about herself. For the first time she enjoys pretending to be normal. The applause, the music and the attention become addictive in ways she never expected. But winning the competition may prove easier than escaping the truth. Dark, unsettling and filled with psychological tension, Winner Takes All is a thriller about identity, deception and the terrifying things people are capable of when success becomes an obsession.
