Janelle escaped once.

She has no intention of going back.

After leaving an abusive relationship behind, Janelle is trying to build a life that belongs to her. A small apartment. A job at a plant shop. A locked door. Simple things that suddenly mean everything.

Then Cade moves in across the hall.

He notices things other people miss: which noises make her freeze, why she takes the stairs instead of the elevator, how she positions herself to see every exit. He never pushes when she says no. He never reaches for her without warning.

And when danger from her past begins creeping back into her new life, Cade is always there.

Sometimes a little too quickly.

The closer Janelle gets to him, the harder it becomes to ignore the questions surrounding the quiet man across the hall. Cade knows more than he should. Watches more than he admits. And his idea of keeping her safe may be far darker—and far more possessive—than she ever imagined.

But Janelle has already learned that a man wanting control isn't always the same thing as a man wanting to hurt her.

This time, she gets to decide what she gives him.

Not This One is an adult dark romance about obsession, trauma, protection, power, and a woman discovering the difference between having control taken from her and choosing when to surrender it.
