You are reading this because there is a question underneath your routines that will not leave you alone, and the question is what you are actually here for. You may have a good job and still feel that something essential is missing, or you may be standing in the middle of an unfinished season, watching others walk confidently into work that seems made for them. You might have prayed for direction so many times that the silence has started to feel like an answer. However your searching has taken shape, the search itself is not a sign of weak faith, and it is the sign that you were made for something. This book was written to walk with you through the honest middle of it.
This is not a 7-step program, and it will not hand you a 5-year plan or a personality quiz that reveals a single true calling. It is a scripture study and reflection devotional, with 150 reflections that each pair a passage of the Bible with a teaching paragraph, a guided prayer, and reflection prompts that ask something real of you. The pages will not manufacture a dramatic moment of clarity, and they will train you to recognize the still small voice that has been speaking all along.
Inside, you'll discover:
• The 3 myths that keep you stuck in comparison
• How your identity in Christ comes before any assignment
• A tested method for hearing God's voice and testing impressions
• The daily examen and the weekly Sabbath review
• How to take bold steps without demanding certainty
• The 90-day experiment for testing a possible calling
• Why your path was written before you were born
This book will not compare your path to anyone else's, and it will not tell you that your purpose must look dramatic to count. It will show you that the lines have fallen for you in pleasant places, and that the next faithful step is always enough. If you have been carrying the question of what you are here for, this devotional will help you live into the answer.
