She rules an empire of gold, fire, and fear. She has never once knelt, and she has never once been loved.

Queen Amara Solanke commands absolute power over the Sun Throne, an ancient African empire forged from the splendor of Egypt and the brutal military might of a Zulu-inspired dynasty. Her sorcery can turn a man's chains into his execution. Her court fears her more than they fear the gods themselves. But beneath the crown, beneath thirty years of narcissism built to survive her mother's murder, Amara is starving for something her power has never been able to purchase: to be truly known. When a southern king named Dakarai refuses to send tribute, mutilates her envoys, and shatters an army of eight thousand soldiers without lifting a blade, Amara rides south herself, certain no man has ever been strong enough to defy her and live. What she finds instead is a ruler who meets her fire with quiet, unshakeable will, who speaks to her not as a goddess to be feared but as a woman worth understanding, and who carries a bloodline curse as ancient and dangerous as her own.

While Amara wages a war of wills in the Iron Hills, her younger sister Nesha risks everything for a forbidden love with a common soldier, a romance a rival noble house is determined to weaponize into the empire's undoing.

(Book One of The Sun Throne Chronicles)

This is an amazing sensory and deeply psychological epic fantasy romance. God Queen of the Sun blends the scale of an ancient African epic with the slow-burn tension of enemies-to-allies romantasy. Perfect for readers of mythology retellings, morally complex queens, and love stories where power is never the safest currency.
