Before anyone called it iron, it fell from the sky.

Forged into a knife before history could record its first owner, the blade begins a journey across thousands of years.

It passes through royal courts, battlefields, treasuries, temples, ships, prisons, private collections, and the hands of people whose names became history: Gilgamesh, Alexander the Great, Cleopatra, Julius Caesar, Paul, Constantine, Charlemagne, Saladin, Genghis Khan, Vlad the Impaler, Leonardo da Vinci, Napoleon, Aleister Crowley, and others.

But the knife possesses no magic. It does not create greatness, cruelty, faith, conquest, or evil.

People do that themselves.

Told from the perspective of an object that remembers nothing unless humans remember for it, The Fallen Iron is a sweeping historical novel about power, mythology, evidence, belief, lost provenance, and the enormous distance between what happened and what history can still prove.
