The Mournfire Cycle

In a world where fire can preserve names, expose broken obligations and reveal the cost hidden inside public institutions, memory is never merely personal.

The Mournfire Cycle follows the people forced to rebuild political, legal and civic systems after generations of central authority have turned remembrance into power. Burial workers, soldiers, printers, officials, families and entire cities must decide who may speak for the dead, who carries the consequences of restored truth, and whether justice can survive without becoming another form of ownership.

Beginning with the collapse of the Crownfire monopoly and a contested imperial succession, the cycle expands into the older history beneath the Burial Compact—and the names that were being removed long before the present empire learned how to erase them.

Epic in consequence, intimate in cost.
