Kristin Thorp believes there will always be more time-time to visit her children, watch another sunset with her husband, and fulfill all the promises she has postponed.

Then, on the same day her granddaughter is born, a rain-soaked collision ends Kristin's life before she can ever hold the baby.

Awakening in an endless darkness, Kristin is forced to revisit the ordinary moments that shaped her: the calls she ignored, the kindness she delayed, the people she loved, and the opportunities she allowed to slip away. When three silent ivory doors appear with an invitation to begin again, Kristin refuses to choose without understanding what she is leaving behind.

Guided by a mysterious presence, she journeys through forgotten acts of compassion, painful regrets, and glimpses of lives she might have lived. Along the way, Kristin must confront life's deepest questions: Are we defined by our mistakes or by how we learn from them? Can love survive when memories disappear? And does death close the final door-or open another?

Emotional, hopeful, and deeply thought-provoking, The Path We Leave Behind is a moving exploration of family, forgiveness, spiritual growth, and the quiet choices that leave lasting marks on the people we love.
