Dear listener: this book was made like an album, with seven tracks that move through memory, loss, states of devotion—but it also sweeps across the mind like a bittersweet symphony, with seven movements written across a near decade, charting memories made in beds shared and left, situated in Singapore, in Australia, and always from the body.

everything you carry is prayer is Qamar Firdaus Saini’s debut collection, and is held together by recurring themes: grief and grace, rupture and ritual, belonging and belief. These poems were made with care: for silence, for resonance, for what the body cannot always say aloud. They move between faiths, inheritances, and forms of prayer. You can drop the needle anywhere and tap into a quieter kind of ache.
