In the summer of 1560, as Scotland stood on the brink of religious revolution, John Knox and five fellow reformers set down in a few days a statement of faith that would define a nation. The Scots Confession is a vivid, passionate, and surprisingly personal declaration—a document of the heart as much as of the mind. This modern-English edition renders its twenty-five chapters in clear, present-day prose while preserving the rhythm, urgency, and deep devotion of the original. Here you will find the reformers' convictions about God, Christ, the Church, the sacraments, and the duty of rulers—expressed not as dry dogma but as living testimony. Whether you come as a student of history, a seeker of spiritual insight, or a lover of great writing, this edition invites you to encounter a classic of the Protestant Reformation in words that speak to today.
