For two centuries, readers have found in Job Scott's journal a voice of rare honesty and depth. Written by an eighteenth-century Quaker farmer who became one of the most beloved ministers of his day, this spiritual autobiography traces a soul's journey from youthful doubt to profound communion with God. Scott's pages are filled with vivid accounts of his travels, his struggles, and his moments of transcendent clarity, all recorded in plain, searching prose. This modern-English edition renders his words in clear, present-day language while remaining faithful to the meaning and spirit of the original.
