Moorside Farm had been operating for over ninety years, and many of the outbuildings showed definite signs of wear and tear. Some three different families had tried to eke out a living on the harsh and exposed site, all without success. Five years ago it became the turn of David Holdsworth and his wife Belinda to attempt to turn things around. They had plans to increase production through the use of modern machinery and modern thinking. However, five years on, the young couple saw history about to repeat itself. Something drastic had to be done, something new, something radical.

Ironically, although David had been well trained and qualified in the field, it was to be Belinda who developed the plan of action which might just pull them through. Breeding was to be the answer. Breeding of animals was not new to the farm; breeding of humans was to be way forward.
