The Wenzi is one of the great treasures of Taoist wisdom, a dialogue in which the sage Wenzi receives the living teachings of Laozi himself. Composed in the centuries after the Daodejing, it unfolds the Way in twelve luminous chapters—from the mystery of the Original Way to the practice of essential sincerity, from guarding emptiness to the subtle illumination that guides wise action in the world. This modern-English edition renders the classic in clear, inviting prose while remaining faithful to the spirit and meaning of the original. Readers will encounter a philosophy of harmony, simplicity, and deep attunement to the natural order—wisdom as practical for daily life today as it was two thousand years ago. Whether you come to it for spiritual insight, for guidance on leadership, or for the sheer beauty of its vision, The Wenzi offers a timeless companion for the journey.
