Description & Overview
Ren Merton and Sig Watson, two hard-drinking cowboys with more swagger than sense, stumble out of Piperock and into what looks like a classic rescue: a girl tied to a tree and menaced by a cougar. Ren drops the beast with deadly precision, only to learn the "damsel" is Miss Reynolds, a film actress, and that the whole tableau is a movie scene gone disastrously off script. Amused, grateful, and very much aware of their charm, she draws them into an impossible favor: capture Oscar, the tame cougar the film company needs to finish its picture. Eager to impress her and determined to outdo one another, Ren and Sig launch into a comic rivalry full of bragging, wit, and frontier nerve. Back at their cabin, they hatch a foolishly confident plan to trap Oscar with a baited shed and a rope. They succeed in shutting the cougar inside, but the animal's growing fury makes clear that a trained film cat is still a dangerous predator. As the night deepens, Ren proposes an even riskier scheme involving Miss Reynolds herself, setting the stage for a lively showdown where Hollywood illusion, cowboy bravado, and plain bad judgment collide.
