What if the success you’re chasing isn’t really yours?

Sooner or Later, I’ll Do It is an intimate and deeply human memoir about leaving, getting lost, and eventually learning the way back home. Henry R. McSherry takes readers on a journey from Sicily to Milan, Cape Town, and the shores of South America, pursuing the version of success he was taught to believe was the only path to a meaningful life.

But what happens when you finally get the career, recognition, title, and salary you once dreamed of—and still feel that something is missing?

The author discovers that you can achieve everything others consider a victory while feeling completely disconnected from your own life.

Through relationships, friendships, travel, kitesurfing, loss, uncertainty, and moments of profound self-questioning, this memoir challenges inherited expectations, the need for approval, and the belief that you must leave everything behind to become someone.

This is not a formula for changing your life. It is something more honest: an invitation to slow down, listen to yourself, and ask what kind of life you truly want.

If you have ever reached a goal and wondered why it didn’t make you happy, feared going back, or questioned whether the path you were following was truly yours, these pages may speak directly to you.

Because sooner or later, the moment comes when you stop running. And when you finally turn around, you may discover that going home was never a failure.

It was the beginning of finding yourself.
