Seán Murphy is the half-mortal bastard son of Aldryd, crowned prince of the high fae. He's spent his whole life hidden away in Ireland with his mother, living disguised as a mortal to stay hidden from his murderous grandfather, the Mad King Braunwyn.

When Seán comes of age, Aldryd comes to him to inform him that he has a choice: to remain immortal and live a continued life of obscurity, or to drink the Deoch b? is, the elixir of death, and become mortal. It should be a simple decision for a young man to make, but the mortal woman he's loved since he was a lad complicates matters.

Sorcha has been infatuated with her fairy prince for nearly her whole life. Now having discovered that their feelings have evolved past that of the innocence of their youth, she is feeling happier and more hopeful than ever- despite Seán's lingering concerns about their conflicting life spans.

Everything comes crashing around her when Seán's largely absent fae father informs him that he can join her in her mortality. How could she possibly allow him to choose an early death for her sake?

Come along to see where Seán and Sorcha's story will lead, as well as what our Aldryd will do to save his son and possibly a few other characters who've been lost in the sands of time.
