A short story about temptation and how sweet it is.

Mala has been hired to guard the fallen god Jalun, removed from his divinity centuries prior. He is allowed to live peacefully, but requires always some sort of guard in case he gets any funny ideas about trying to become a god exerting his authority again.

Mala sees just another target to guard. Jalun sees a woman well worth the effort to play with. Can she last against the shard of his power that remains?
