A stray cat picked us both. Turns out, so did fate.

Freelance designer Mia has a strict "no pets" policy — right up until an enormous, one-eared gray cat named Winston adopts her fire escape and refuses to leave. When a lost-cat flyer leads her to Sam — the quietly charming teacher two floors up — she expects to hand the cat back and never think about either of them again.

Instead, Winston starts a habit of wandering between apartments whenever he pleases, and soon Mia and Sam are trading custody updates, sharing food bowls, and finding excuses to run into each other in the hallway. What starts as an accidental co-parenting arrangement for a cat neither of them planned on quietly turns into something neither of them saw coming either.

Between an emergency vet visit that changes everything, a proposal-worthy mother's approval interview, and one very opinionated cat who seems to have had a plan all along, Mia and Sam have to figure out whether the life a stray cat stumbled them into is one they're both ready to choose on purpose.

A heartwarming, laugh-out-loud pet romance about the accidental families we build — for fans of found love, opposites attract, and stories where the cat deserves equal billing on the cover.
