Some doors should never be opened.
Others should never have been closed.
Elara Finch thought surviving Greyhaven would be the hardest thing she would ever have to do.
She was wrong.
When a mysterious girl named Rowan appears at Blackthorn House claiming to have escaped from somewhere beyond the Veil, she brings an impossible warning: there are more doors than Elara's Keeper book has ever recorded—and something ancient has already begun to follow her through them.
Soon Elara discovers the House of Doors, a place built from countless stolen thresholds, and a terrible system that has spent centuries deciding who may enter, who must remain trapped, and who gets to choose.
But when Elara refuses to become its next Keeper, the House turns its attention to Rowan.
And that is only the beginning.
Hidden beneath Blackthorn are doors older than the Lantern Society, forgotten family secrets, people erased from history, and a mystery reaching back to the very first threshold ever created.
As Elara, Milo, Silas, Aunt Mabel and the others uncover the truth, one question becomes impossible to avoid:
Who should have the right to decide whether a door opens or closes?
Because some doors are dangerous.
Some choices have consequences.
And sometimes the greatest danger begins when one person believes their hand should be the only one allowed on the handle.
Atmospheric, mysterious and filled with friendship, humour, family secrets and supernatural suspense, The Keeper of Doors is the fourth instalment in The Veilkeeper Chronicles.
